Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Isn't site just a cheap ripoff of hotornot.com?
A:Yes, but it's much more than that. It's also a ripoff of del.icio.us.com, digg.com and a whole bunch of other web 2.0 sites.
Q: What's up with these "tags"?
A: To the right of every joke is a set of one or more terms, called "tags". If you click on one of them it will take you to another joke with the same tag. Tags are a way for authors to attach meaning to jokes and for readers to find related jokes. Any given joke can have multiple tags. You can read more about tags here.
Q: OK, so I think I'm grokking "tags", and I've noticed that after clicking on a tag a few times, it's not a hyperlink anymore.
A: That means you've seen all the jokes for that particular tag. funnyr tries to avoid showing you the same joke more than once. If you are blocking offensive content, you will run out of jokes faster. You can change your preferences here.
Q: This joke really offends me. I've checked "Block offensive jokes", but it wasn't blocked. Why?
A:"Offensive" is a subjective term which means exactly what funnyr thinks it means, which is almost certainly not what you think it means. You can't please everybody.
Q: Hey, you're ripping off my content!
A: If you believe that jokes have been posted to funnyr in violation of copyright laws, please email abuse@funnyr.com, and include the title and URL of the joke.
Q: None of those answered my question.
A: You can always email me with any additional questions.
